I cannot believe no one has commented on this, yet tons of people have reblogged. Of course, all human functions just “happening” would be statistically unlikely. But the human body did not just “happen.” Things work together, as a system. They depend on each other. One thing developed to help another, or because of another. This is what evolution is.

Plus, prove to me the universe is not infinite or monstrously large. Even if the odds are against us, if the sample is large enough it will likely happen.

Wait a second… What the hell is the rest of the country doing complaining about high gas prices?! My entire state is blood red and you’re upset that your gas is getting close to $4/gallon? It’s $4.70 down the street from me and I use twice as much to get the same number of miles as you because of traffic.

Is this going to happen? It came out this week that Obama was considering “former top military leaders among his possible running mates.” I’m a fan of General Clark. He is a member of UCLA’s Burkle Center for International Relations. Last quarter he lectured for one of my classes which was already taught by some heavyweights.

He came off as very bright, and passionate about improving the country. He believes we need to be careful with the use of force, and shouldn’t engage at will abroad, but also recognizes that there are serious moral reasons for taking action abroad. He was a strong advocate of “coercive diplomacy”—force coupled with diplomacy to achieve a principled objective.

The size of Africa. As a reddit commenter points out, the reason we are shocked by this is the map projections we’re used to don’t display things as “equal-area.” The Peters Projection Map apparently solves that. I want one!
